Privacy Policy

Short version: we show a rough area, your first name and your note on the map — never your exact location, email or phone. Here are the details.
1. What we collect
- From Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Approximate location: with your permission, your browser's location. Before anything is sent to us it is moved 50–100 metres in a random direction; your exact GPS position stays only in your own browser and is never sent to or stored on our servers.
- What you write: your note for strangers.
- Payment details: the payment status and reference ID from our payment gateway. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by the gateway — we never receive them.
- Basic technical data: device/browser type and a few settings saved in your browser (for example, whether you hid a panel).
2. What is public
Your first name, city and state, Dot number, the time you joined and your note are visible to anyone on the map and on your shareable Dot Card. Your dot is shown about 50–100 metres away from where you are, in a random direction. Your email, surname, phone and exact location are never shown.
3. Why we use it
- to create and show your dot, and to confirm your payment;
- to prevent fraud, spam and abusive notes;
- to count referrals when someone joins using your link;
- to contact you about your dot or a support request.
We don't sell your personal data and we don't use it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the site: Google (sign-in), our database/hosting provider, our payment gateway, and map providers (CARTO / OpenStreetMap) that load map images. We may disclose information if required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your dot and account details while the project runs, and payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your name, email and note and keep only an anonymous dot and payment record.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance. Email hello@ekdiya.in. Grievance Officer: Rajneesh Singh, grievance@ekdiya.in.
7. Children
The site is meant for people aged 18 and above. If you're under 18, please use it only with a parent or guardian's consent.
